There are two lists because some feel Kosciuszko (formerly referred to as Kosciusko), the highest point on the Australian continent should be included. Actually a point of debate. Some feel that Australia is really not a continent, but that Australasia is, and therefore Carstensz should be included...

The shortest time for the Seven Summits to be completed with Kosciusko is just seven months, with six hours to spare, by Rob Hall (counting his second ascent of Vinson) and Gary Ball (both New Zealand).
